A native of Massachusetts, I grew up in Westwood, MA, some 20 minutes
southwest of Boston.
Despite some effit, I failed to pick up a
wicked good Boston accent.
Sometimes when I'm homesick, I'll listen to the
Car Talk Guys to bring back the memories...
In 1988 I moved to Baltimore, MD to attend college. I received my B.A.
in Physics at the Bob Hoskins err..
Johns Hopkins University. While an undergraduate, I worked
part time during the school year and full time during the summers
at the Space Telescope Science Institute. There
I worked for Ralph Bohlin on various HST, IUE, and UIT projects.
Upon completing my B.A., I moved here to Seattle, WA and began graduate
school in Astronomy here at UW, working for Bruce
Margon. I recently completed my Ph. D. dissertation which involved the
study of low-mass X-ray binary systems in several globular clusters. I've
stayed on at UW as a Research Associate.
I enjoy sailing here in Seattle, so I've started to put together a quick little sailing page.
Don't expect much yet, though..
I recently attended the Winter School in the Canary Islands. Here's a page of
some links and memories of that experience.
