Abstract:
Combining XMM-Newton and Chandra data we have conducted a detailed study of Abell 2199, a well known nearby relaxed galaxy cluster. Our analysis reveals a variety of phenomena on scales from a few to hundreds of kpc.On the smallest scales we find evidences of an interaction between the central AGN and the surrounding plasma, revealed by the presence of an X-ray cavity filled with radio emission. We derive a value for the magnetic field inside the radio bubble of a few tens of microGauss. On the largest scales we discover a structure in the intracluster medium which we interpret as the remnant of a subcluster passage through the cluster core which occurred roughly a Gyr ago.
