ROFM Development Ends

FileMaker Pro 4 (both Mac and PC) now has WWW serving capabilities built in, so I have discontinued further development of ROFM CGI. However, ROFM CGI is fully compatible with FileMaker Pro 4. I will continue to serve ROFM CGI for an indefinite period and will continue to try to help users when I can.

I would like to thank ROFM CGI's many loyal users, especially those who helped its development with useful suggestions and debugging. And of course we all owe a great debt to François Matte for his extensive improvements, including ISO-Latin 1 character translation and preferences file handling.

ROFM, a FileMaker Pro CGI

ROFM CGI allows searching, adding, modifying and deleting records in Filemaker Pro databases via the World Wide Web. It supports multiple databases and is easy use. Features include an easy-to-use security system, return of large "hit-lists" on multiple pages and support for ISO-Latin1 character translation. ROFMfr, a French adaptation by François Matte, is also available from this site.

ROFM CGI requires a MacOS computer running QuidProQuo, WebStar or any compatible Mac WWW server.

The last release version of ROFM CGI was 4.3, August 17, 1997.
The last version of ROFMfr was 4.2b4, released February 18, 1997.
In addition, ROFM CGI 4.4b1 is available as of March 12, 1999. 4.4 is identical to 4.3 except it has been compiled using AppleScript 1.3, so it should run faster. It is completely untested; use it at your own risk. It requires Mac OS 8.5, including the normal installation of AppleScript 1.3.

(ftp) denotes an ftp link to binary files. Some older WWW browsers cannot retrieve binary files correctly and many WWW browsers seem to have trouble retrieving files over poor connections. If you have problems, please retrieve the files using ftp client such as Fetch or Anarchie.
