A visit to the Brewster radio telescope
Thanks to Jim Davenport for organizing this trip, and for taking the pictures. Pre-MAP was represented by Carl (wearing the fetching Pre-MAP sweatshirt) and Virginia (+ Athena!). This radio telescope is one of many that make up the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA). Observations made with this telescope are combined with data taken by the other VLBA telescopes to create very high resolution images of astronomical objects.
