The Profile

  • D. R. GOVERNMENT density profile: drgov.c
  • This profile fit is based on dark matter simulations of 16 haloes,
    covering 3 orders of magnitude in mass, calibrated up to redshift 5.
    Output profile depends only on M/M*, where M* is the characterist halo collapse mass at that redshift, given by:
    Sigma(M*,z) = delta_c (typically near 1.686).
    M* at redshift 0 is 1.7e13 Msun/h for LCDM cosmology.
    Outputs: density profile, enclosed mass, rotation curve

    The profile is given by: gamma = -1.4 + 0.08Log(M/M*) +/- 0.3
    c_gamma = 8M/M*^{-0.15} +/- c_gamma
    for haloes of 0.01M* to 1000M*
    gamma is the asymptotic inner slope of the fit
    c_gamma is the concentration = Rvir/Rscale
    The scatter is estimated from the halo-to-halo scatter measured inthe simulations
