Welcome to my homepage! I'm a fifth year grad student in the Astronomy Department at the University of Washington. I'm currently involved in a variety of research projects like probing the Galactic structure with RR Lyrae stars, searching for SN using the SDSS survey, and  investigating the nature of dark matter with the microlensing survey SuperMaCHO. I have also worked on the central properties of early type galaxies. As my first project at UW I build a seeing monitor (Dimm).

Originally, I'm from Germany, but I have been in the States for over six years. I spent my first two years at Portland State University as an exchange student in the Physics Department working on the properties of CCD detectors.

If everything goes as planned, I will finish my PhD in September, and in October I will start my postdoc at CTIO in La Serena, Chile (Yes, I'm working on my spanish!)
