Dr. Suzanne L. Hawley

Dr. Hawley studies magnetic activity in M dwarfs through large surveys of field objects and investigations of low mass stars in open clusters. She has also spent considerable time observing and modelling flares on low mass stars. She is a past chair of the NOAO nighttime users committee and has served on the U.S. Gemini Science Advisory Committee, the international Gemini Science Committee, the Space Telescope Users Committee and the NOAO Telescope Allocation Committee. She is currently a member of the AAS Council and the SDSS Advisory Council. Dr. Hawley is also the Director of the ARC 3.5m Telescope at Apache Point Observatory.
