Who?

I am a Lecturer/Researcher/Editor/Hanger-on here at the University of Washington Astronomy Department. I am also an Associate editor for the Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. If you think you can divine something about a person from their interest you can look at mine here. To save you some time, which you obviously have too much of, I am pretty much a Geek.

Teaching

Sometimes I am lucky enough to get to teach classes here at UW. I have been teaching in one form or another since 1988. Mostly I teach classes that have something to do with the solar system. Am I any good at this? -- How would I know? However, if you are contemplating taking one of my classes you can check out my teaching page to find my past class evaluations plus a few other bits of teaching weirdness. I also give talks to various groups, mostly about things planetary.

Scientific Interests

While in Grad school at the UW I was lured away from my original interest in galaxies by the more palpable appeal of planetary science. However, I still think galaxies are pretty cool. My research interests include meteorites and terrestrial impact craters. I also seem to spend a lot of time preaching about the Apollo lunar missions.
