Extra Credit Opportunities

You may earn up to an extra 7% this quarter by completing two extra assignments, where you will be looking at real data and using the techniques learned about in class. You don't have to do both, or either, but they are free points.

• #1 (up to 2.5%) Due 10/23 Determining the age of Mars from Crater Counting (Credit: Smith, University of Washington)
• #2 (up to 2.5%) Due 11/27 Spectral Classification of Stars (Credit Dalcanton and Plotkin, University of Washington)
• #3 (up to 2%) Due First Class After Visit. Attended an astronomy activity or lecture outside of class. One such opportunity is to Attend a Jacobson Observatory open house / astronomy talk.. Please check with your instructor if another event would qualify.
