RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
University of Washington, Seattle, WA
Graduate Research Assistant, Fall 2003-Present
Collaborate with Dr. Scott F. Anderson researching: (1) X-ray emitting AGN & quasars, (2) AM CVn double-degenerate binaries, (3) He II and deuterium absorption in QSO spectra, and (4) compact binaries in globular clusters. These studies employ the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, GALEX, the ARC 3.5m Telescope at Apache Point, N.M., as well as the Chandra and XMM-Newton X-ray observatories, and the Hubble Space Telescope.
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Cambridge, MA
Visiting Graduate Research Assistant, Summers 2006, 2007, 2008
Collaborate with Dr. Paul J. Green on the Chandra Multiwavelength Project (ChaMP). Research to constrain the AGN fraction in the local universe, perform optical verification of Chandra-SDSS matches, perform spectroscopic follow-up of bright ChaMP sources, and investigate broad absorption line (BAL) quasar variability.
San Francisco State University, San Francisco, CA
Graduate Research Assistant, 2001-2003
Assisted Dr. Adrienne M. Cool, researching compact binary star systems in Omega Centauri. Data reduction and source characterization in two data sets, a ~70 ksec observation of the cluster with Chandra's Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer and a 3x3 mosaic of Wide Field Camera pointings with HST's Advanced Camera for Surveys. Featured twice by the Hubble Heritage Project: 2008 Gallery Image, 2001 Gallery Image.
