Paula is a professor in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Paula works on Cataclysmic Variables (mainly ultrashort period dwarf novae and magnetic AM Her and DQ Her systems), and has projects on XTE, ASCA, ROSAT, IUE, HST, EUVE as well as being an active user of APO and MRO.
